2023/9:  Xiaojing's paper entitled "Substantial halogenated organic chemicals stored in permafrost soils on the Tibetan Plateau" was accepted by Nature Geoscience. This is a major breakthrough in organic geochemistry achieved in the context of grand challenges of climate change.

2023/10:  Prof. Wang and several distinguished scientists published a special article in Science China Earth Science entitled "Water: the lifeblood of the Earth-human system seen through elemental correlation". This is a product of the Geohealth strategic symposium in Wuhan, 2021.

2023/06:  Our paper on experimental validation of novel archaea methanogenesis was published in Science Advances.
课题组在产甲烷环境生物地球化学研究中取得突破!利用滇藏热泉为窗口,用实验证明了非传统型产甲烷古菌是活跃在高温热泉中甲烷的主要生产者,推进了对微生物产甲烷过程的深层次理解。论文在Science Advances刊发。(国家自然科学基金委网站报道)
2023/06:  Prof. Wang participated the sustainability workshop jointly organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences and US National Academy of Sciences, in Irvine CA. He moderated a panel with Prof. Ashok Gadgil, UC Berkeley and NAE.

2023/02:  Our paper entitled rice–fish coculture system enhances paddy soil fertility, bacterial network stability and keystone taxa diversity was accepted in Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment. This paper was supported by local collaborator in Sichuan.

2022/12:  Xingxing Wang successfully defended his PhD thesis. He will continue his research career as a postdoc in Southern University of Science and Technology (Sustech) with a prestigious hydrogeochemist, Prof. Yan Zheng.
祝贺王星星顺利完成了博士论文答辩(答辩委员会主任为贾永锋教授),星星以GCA, ES&T, WR三篇论文的工作,完成了博士课题。随后将赴南方科技大学跟随郑焰教授从事博士后研究。
2022/12:  Xuan Qi successfully defended her master thesis. She has already won a CSC scholarship to study aboard and will have the chance to pursue further education in RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
祝贺祁璇同学顺利完成了硕士论文线上答辩(答辩委员会主任为张宏亮教授),她同时还获得了国家留学基金委奖学金,未来将赴德国亚琛工业大学继续深造,祝福她披荆斩棘,前程似锦!
2022/12:  Dr. Zimeng Wang won one of the 2023 ACS ES&T James J. Morgan Early Career Award. James Morgan is one of the co-founders of aquatic chemistry and the founding editor of Environmental Science & Technology journal.
王梓萌老师获得由美国化学会和ES&T期刊颁发的2023年James J. Morgan青年科学家奖。James Morgan是水化学学派的创始人之一,也是ES&T的创刊主编(时年34岁,任加州理工助理教授)。
2022/12:  Qianqian Gao's paper on Enrichment and transfer of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) through dust aerosol generation from soil to the air was accepted in Frontiers of Environmental Science and Engineering.

2022/10:  Xiaoying, Gaosheng etl 's paper on spatiotemporal distribution of residual ammonium in a rare-earth mine after in-situ leaching was accepted in Journal of Hydrology.
杨晓英老师,奚高胜等关于稀土矿山残留浸矿剂时空模拟的论文被Journal of Hydrology接受。此项工作用HYDRUS完成,利用有限的场地数据实现了对较广时空尺度的浸矿剂淋洗过程的预测!

2022/6:  Xingxing's paper on Mn-S-As interactions was accepted in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. The revision and additional experiments were performed during the lockdown of Shanghai, overcoming much challenges and difficulties.

 2021/05:  Hongbiao and Qianqian both successfully defended their master thesis. Hongbiao will work in industry (environmental modeling) and Qianqian will continue her PhD program under the guidance of Prof. Xiaofei Wang.

2020/11:  We are excited to receive a grant from Yanchang Petroleum International Limited to investigate the energy efficiency and sustainability related questions in amine based post-combustion carbon capture technology. Looking forward to playing with another pilot rig of carbon capture.

2020/11:  Xiaojing received an open grant from the Gansu Provincial Key Laboratory at Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, CAS, to investigate the distribution, formation mechanisms and remobilization risk of nonextractable anthropogenic organic pollutants residues .
朱晓婧博士获得中科院西北生态环境资源研究院的甘肃省重点实验室开放基金,将研究青藏高原多年冻土区表层土壤中结合残留态有机污染物的分布特征、形成机制及释放风险。感谢同行朋友支持!

2020/09:  Our state key R&D project on remediation of rare earth elements mine tailing sites was officially launched in Ganzhou, Jiangxi. We will investigate ammonium migration mechanism in soils and regional watersheds.
课题组参与的国家“重点研发”计划正式启动。我们课题组负责残留硫酸铵浸矿剂在离子型稀土矿山的土壤中和小流域环境中的释放和迁移机制的研究。

2020/05:  Dr. Zimeng Wang was selected for the Ebelmen Award by the International Association of Geochemistry. The Ebelmen Award was established in 2007 in honor of a French chemist, Jacques-Joseph Ebelmen . 
王梓萌博士荣获2020年度国际地球化学协会埃贝尔蒙奖。该奖于2007年创立,以纪念法国传奇化学家雅克-约瑟夫·埃贝尔蒙(Jacques-Joseph Ebelmen,1814-1852)。每2年在全球奖励1名在地球化学领域有突出贡献且年龄在35岁以内的青年学者。

2019/10: Chancellor Emeritus of Washington University in St. Louis Mark Wrighton inspected our laboratory. Dr. Wrighton served as the 14th Chancellor of WashU from 1995 to 2019. He initiated the McDonnell International Scholars Academy and brought Washington University into the University Alliance of the Silk Road, the academic arm of China's One Belt, One Road initiative, as the first North American partner.

2019/10: Prof. Keisuke Fukushi at Kanazawa University visited our group and gave a seminar on his just published research on reconstructing water chemistry on early Mars.

2019/08: Our group participated the 2019 International Symposium on Environmental Geochemistry at Peking University. Zimeng organized and moderated a special editor session with 11 editors representing 8 journals in our field.

2019/07: Dr. Wang participated a field campaign in south Jiangxi Province to investigate soil contamination issues in REE legacy sites. The team includes 10 partners including universities, research institutes and industry companies.

2019/05: Congratulations! Our undergraduate researcher Yiyao Ni was awarded a fellowship from the Chun-Tsung Endowment established by Nobel Physics Prize Laureate Prof. Tsung-Dao Lee. She will perform a modeling study to quantify various mechanisms how impurity contents of Mn oxides impact its sorption properties.

2019/02:Zimeng is appointed an Associate Editor of Applied Geochemistry, the official journal of International Association of Geochemistry (IAGC). Found in 1986, the Applied Geochemistry is an international journal devoted to publication of original research papers, rapid research communications and selected review papers in geochemistry and urban geochemistry which have some practical application to an aspect of human endeavor, such as the preservation of the environment, health, waste disposal and the search for resources.
